Since arriving on our screens, the Channel 5 adaptation of All Creatures Great and Small has proven to be a worthy successor to the original and a much-needed antidote to the rowdy ones of the past 18 months.
One area where the new All Creatures certainly matches, if not exceeds, the original is its cast, with newcomer Nicholas Ralph shining as James Herriot.

Episode 4 of All Creatures Great and Small season 2 arrives on Channel 5 at 9 p.m. on Thursday, October 7.
Title Many happy returns, the episode sees Tristan celebrate his birthday while Siegfried finally gives his younger brother new responsibilities.
Tristan faces a tough challenge before he can return home for his birthday festivities as Ms Hall brutally reminds James of the pressing dilemma of whether his place is in Glasgow or Darrowby with Helen.

Steven Hartley as John Monkman
Steven Hartley joins the cast of Episode 4 as John Monkman, and proves to be a difficult task for Tristan now that the leash has been loosened by Siegfried.
Hartley, born in Bradford, has worked in the theater industry since the 1980s and has over 60 acting roles under his belt with notable appearances to come. Doctors, Bill, a 2015 episode of Silent witness and more recently Netflix Shadow and bone and from the sky Brassique as well as several video games including The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Ryse son of Rome.
Jessica Clark as Margot Sebright Saunders
Jessica Clark appears to be a cat among the pigeons in her role as Margot Sebright Saunders, whom James and Tristan meet while on duty.
Clark made his screen debut in 2009 and has since earned credits in Broadside, Silent Witness, Versailles, Call the Midwife and also has a coming appearance provided for Death in paradise.
Dorothy Atkinson as Diana Brompton
And finally, we come to Dorothy Atkinson who is reprising her role as Diana from episode 2 where she took a liking to Siegfried.
Since her first screen appearance in 1991, Dorothy has had nearly 50 acting roles under her belt with notable appearances to come. Pennyworth, mama, hookers, call the midwife and Mr. Turner.
