LIMA — The Wapakoneta and Waynesfield-Goshen cross country teams traveled to the Bath Cross Country Invitational on Tuesday.
The Redskin boys and the Tiger girls each finished third in team scores.
The Tiger boys finished sixth out of nine. Wapakoneta’s women’s team did not have enough entries to qualify for a team score, only five made it.
Wapakoneta and WG were two of the 15 teams participating in the competition.
Between the two schools, Axton Fosnaugh of Wapakoneta finished first after taking third place in the men’s 5K with a time of 17:03.80.
For the Redskins, Fosnaugh was followed by Cash Schadl finishing seventh with a time of 17:47.77. Crew Allen was the next Wapakoneta member to cross the finish line finishing the race in 18:58.23 and finishing 16th.
Hayden Sell (18th) and Peyton Moyer (24th) completed the top five for the Redskin boys, Sell clocked 18:59.83 and Moyer finished in 19:16.58.
Noah Schlosser (25th), Kolvyn Clausing (39th), Christian Augsburger (47th), Ethan Cope (64th) and Lucas Kline (83rd) also took part in the Redskins meeting.
For the Tiger boys, Damian Canter finished first for WG and 17th overall with an 18:58.27 finish.
Brody Barrington earned a 26th-place finish for the Tigers in 19:20.70. Barrington was followed by Noah Dotson’s 19:51.42 and 30th place finish.
Jayden Duvernay (58th) and Brady Chapman (75th) crowned the Tigers’ top five runners. Duvernay clocked 21:46.27 and Chapman finished in 24:52.30.
Avin Sanpietro (87th) was the only Tiger not to qualify for the team score.
The Waynesfield-Goshen women’s team finished third as a team and was led by 17th and 18th place finishers Kyra Sutherland and Chloe Frye. Sutherland clocked 23:24.95 and Frye finished in 23:25.55.
Kennedy Bigelow was the third Tiger to finish as she placed 24th with a time of 24:13.11. Anna Brodman (26th) and Raegan Hutchison (32nd) were the fourth and fifth Tigers to finish the race, with times of 24:51.21 and 25:56.27.
Cassidy Bigelow (33rd) and Amelia Ball (43rd) also competed for the Tigers.
The Lady Redskins had only three entries as they did not qualify for a team score.
Lillith Lautzenheiser led the way for Wapakoneta with a 12th place finish and a time of 22:28.02.
Mariel Augsburger (14th) and Ashley Elkins (19th) followed Lauzenheiser with times of 22:04.77 and 23:28.30.
Wapakoneta and Waynesfield-Goshen will be back in action on Saturday with the Redskins at Botkins and the Tigers at Kalida.
