Group launches door-to-door campaign for Atiku in Cross River

July 03 (THEWILL) – A Christian political organization, the Grassroots Christian Door-to-Door Campaign for Atiku, has launched a door-to-door campaign in Cross River State.

The campaign is to sell the candidacy of the PDP presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, as well as the party’s government standard bearer in Cross River, Professor Sandy Ojang Onor.

The national coordinator of the organization, Bishop Stanley Joseph, revealed it in Calabar, during the inauguration of the state and local executives of the organization.

He said Nigeria has come to a crossroads and they are campaigning for Atiku because “the APC took Nigeria to Egypt, but Atiku will take Nigeria to the promised land.”

“Nigeria has again come to another crossroads, looking for a leader to take it to its promised land.

“APC brought us back to Egypt, God in his infinite mercy, heard the cry of his people and decided to bring His Excellency, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, to take us to the promised land.

“If it weren’t for the passing of former President Yar’Adua, Nigeria would now have been like Dubai.

“Let it be said that Alhaji Atiku Abubakar is coming in the spirit of Yar ‘Adua, he will take us to the promised land,” Bishop Joseph said.

He said that as a bishop he is involved in politics because he has “an ecclesiastical and political mandate.”

He added that they were in charge of doing a Door 2 Door campaign for His Excellency, Alhaji ATIKU Abubakar and he is here to kick off and launch this great organization in Cross Rivers State.

He instructed all significant Cross Riverians to join this train and deliver Atiku in 2023.

He also expressed his confidence in the leadership of Dr. Iwara and his Excos and all the GLA coordinators.

In his response, Dr. Iwara Okoi, the organization’s state coordinator, pledged to do his best to move the organization forward.

He said the organization would start functioning and as evangelists would evangelize the programs of Atiku Abubakar and Professor Sandy Ojang Onor.

Other members of the State Executive are Sir Moses Odido, Mr. Otu Ekpenyong Effiom, Mr. Benedict Ojong Agbor, Mr. Abua Emmanuel Ungwugwaye and Mrs. Esther Imo.

Sixteen Local Government Coordinators have also been appointed to take over the organization in their respective LGAs.
