EXCLUSIVE: ITV’s adaptation of Louise Candlish’s best-selling Sunday Times real estate novel Our house threw Martin Compston (Course of action), Tuppence Middleton (Downton abbey) and Rupert Penry-Jones (Drowning) in the lead roles.
Our house tells the four-part story of Fi Lawson (Middleton), who arrives home one day to find a family of strangers moving into their home and her husband, Bram (Compston), has gone missing. As the nightmare grows, Bram and Fi try to figure out the events that led to a devastating crime and how they will each survive the chilling truth.
Produced by Death in paradise Outfit from Red Planet Pictures, Penry-Jones plays the enigmatic Toby, who is in a relationship with Fi. Buket Komur (Honor) stars as Bram’s new partner, the mysterious and alluring Wendy. Weruche Opia also joins the cast, which broke in the Emmy-nominated BBC / HBO series I can destroy you as Fi’s best friend.
Filming began in South London, with Sheree Folkson as the lead director after working on Netflix hits Bridgerton and Gender / Life. Our house is written by EastEnders writer Simon Ashdown. Red Planet’s co-managing director Belinda Campbell is the executive producer, while the series has been commissioned by ITV drama chief Polly Hill. Tom Mullens is the producer. ITV Studios distributes internationally.
Compston said the scripts are “really exciting”, while Middleton added: “What struck me Our house is its immense relativity; It’s a story where you get a glimpse of yourself in the characters and frighteningly realize that what happens to Fi can happen to anyone. Penry-Jones continued, “This is a TV thriller that will turn all expectations upside down.”
