Liberty Christian grad launches garage door business – Cross Timbers Gazette | Denton County South | mound of flowers

It only took Davis Keene four months of selling cars to realize that he no longer wanted to work for someone else. After all, the 2015 Liberty Christian School graduate had a degree in finance and entrepreneurship from Baylor University.

His first business was selling snow cones from a truck as a freshman at Baylor. Later, he joined other students in an investment partnership for about two years. In early 2020 he became a partner in a residential garage flooring business and after increasing revenue from $2 million to $7 million they sold out earlier in 2022 and he started looking his next venture.

“Working in the flooring industry, I’ve learned that the needs for home services are endless. I wanted to stay in this business,” he said. “I spoke to franchise brokers and knowledgeable mentors and fell in love with the garage door business. It seems to be something that always causes problems. I want to be the one to help solve these problems for the people of my hometown.

After learning everything he could about garage doors, he opened ProLift Garage Doors on October 12. The former Liberty baseball player is thrilled to serve our area.

“There are a lot of entrepreneurs out there,” he said. “People are looking for someone they know they can trust and we hope to prove to my community that we are that company. We will provide the best customer service you can get in the home service industry. Period.”

Keene thinks it starts with something as simple as answering the phone.

“We will communicate clearly what we are going to do, what is involved in the work and we will be very responsive,” he said. “My phone number is on everything and we have a full call center to answer your questions when I am unable to.”

He currently has a truck and a service expert to drive it. His company serves all of Denton County and beyond. Learn more at www.proliftdoors.com/denton
