Nevada Humanities opens the grant application period

Nevada Humanities this week launched its U.S. Nevada Humanities bailout relief and recovery grants for humanities-focused nonprofits in Nevada that have struggled due to COVID-19. Nevada Humanities will provide American Rescue Plan Act funds to these affected organizations.

“These United States Nevada Humanities Rescue Relief and Recovery Grants are intended to help humanities-focused organizations in Nevada prevent, prepare for, respond to, and recover from the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Nevada Humanities in a statement. “Nevada Humanities offers two types of grants funded by the US Rescue Plan: Relief Operating Grants and Recovery Program Grants. “

Emergency Operating Grants – Short-term operating support for humanitarian non-profit organizations. Relief Operating Grants are available with rewards ranging from $ 5,000 to $ 20,000 to Nevada nonprofits with humanities-focused missions. The funds will be used to cover general operating costs such as salaries, rent, utilities and other operating costs. The application period will remain open from August 21 to October 1 and decisions will be announced in mid-November 2021.

Recovery Program Grants – Organizational Capacity Building and Program Support for Cultural and Human Organizations. These recovery program grants will offer awards ranging from $ 1,000 to $ 10,000 to cultural and humanities organizations that deliver public social sciences and humanities programs to support immediate capacity building and programmatic support directly related to projects and programs focused on human Sciences. These grants will provide organizations that undertake public humanities programs with a way to respond to the current and long-term challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic. The application period is open from August 21 to October 21, with decisions to be announced in mid-December.

Eligible organizations can apply for both a Relief Operating Grant and a Recovery Program Grant, as well as Nevada Project, Planning, and Mini-Grants grants.
