PASTOR SERVICE: Faith Fellowship Church of God, 388 E. Midlothian Blvd., Youngstown, will hold a memorial service today at 3 p.m. for former pastor Johnathan Mitchell.
In 2020, after being hospitalized for more than 100 days to fight COVID-19 and other health issues, Mitchell returned to church to minister last summer. In June 2014, Mitchell became the senior pastor of Faith Fellowship in Youngstown. During his 42 years of ministry, he was called to the mission field, where he and his wife ministered in Ivory Coast, West Africa.

135 YEARS CELEBRATION: Boardman’s First Covenant Church will celebrate its 135th anniversary on June 27. The event will include a service at 10 a.m. with guest speakers sharing stories and stories from the church.
BIBLE SCHOOL: Howland United Methodist Church will host VBS from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. for two weeks. The first week is Monday, Wednesday and Friday for young children and the second week is June 28, 30 and July 2 for older children. The theme is “Summer Olympics.” Efforts will be made to organize all outdoor events.
WHEEL MONDAY: Unity Spiritual Center, 1226 Naylor Lloyd Road, Liberty, will host the Unity Wheel Mondays from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on the third Monday of each month. People can bring an outdoor chair or blanket and any musical instruments they may have. The offering for the wheel can be cornmeal, tobacco, birdseed, or whatever you feel is appropriate to thank the creator.
The plans are to walk the wheel, discover the meaning of the parts of the wheel, the native drum, the smear and the community.
COMMUNITY CONCERT: The Unity Spiritual Center, 1226 Naylor Lloyd Road, will sponsor a community concert at 5:30 p.m. on June 26. The outdoor concert will feature Nina and Rick Miller performing songs from the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s. Attendees are welcome to bring a lawn chair and are also invited to picnic with family and friends.
If it rains, the show will be moved indoors. The concert is free but donations will be accepted.
FUNDRAISING SHOW: St. Patrick’s Parish, 225 N. Main St., Hubbard, will be holding a car show fundraiser from 10 am to 2 pm on June 26th. in January. A donation of $ 5 is requested.

SHARED PASTOR: Pastor Lizzie Weed of Grace United Methodist Church, 1725 Drexel NW, Warren, has been called to a two-point charge in which she will serve both Grace and Palmyra United Methodist Church from July 4.
To make the date easier, Grace United Methodist will love it at 11am. In the brief interval between the end of Sunday school at 10:30 am and the start of the worship service, there will be coffee and fellowship.
SUMMER CAMPS: Pleasant Valley Church in Liberty will host summer camps from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. from June 21 to 24, with the theme “Fruits of the Spirit”. There will be crafts, music, sports and art. Sports World athletes will lead each camp.

LABYRINTH EVENT: Villa Maria Education and Spirituality Center, 2067 Evergreen Road, Villa Maria, PA, will offer a virtual introduction to the Maze Journey via Zoom. The virtual labyrinthine walk invites participants to walk an ancient path symbolizing cultural passages.
Future programs in this ongoing series are scheduled on various dates on the grounds of the Villa Maria Community Center on July 21, August 18 and September 19. Guided labyrinth walks are offered free of charge.
