Bettye L. Cross Seymour, 76, born February 17, 1946, in Haysville, North Carolina, went to join the Lord on Friday, October 7, 2022. She was surrounded by her family.
A Cleveland resident and member of First Baptist Church, she worked and retired from Maycor/Maytag.
Bettye was the most loving and devoted wife, mother, meme, and friend anyone could have been blessed to know and love. She helped make dreams come true and create memories that will last a lifetime. She touched the lives of all who knew her.
Bettye enjoyed sewing, fishing, cooking, gardening, and spending time doing crossword puzzles and word scrambles. Above all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Bettye was predeceased by her husband of 44 years, Thomas G. Seymour, Jr.; her parents, John C. Cross and Christina Mashburn Cross; two brothers, Walter Cross and Buddy Cross; and a nephew, Bryan Smith.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Stephanie and Mitchell Parker, of Cleveland and Tamara and Thomas Clower, of Cleveland; a son and daughter-in-law, Thomas “Trey” and Jamie Ensminger Seymour; three grandsons, Christian Parker, Cole Parker and Thomas Seymour, IV; one granddaughter, MaryAnne Seymour; two step-grandchildren, Amber and Alex Clower Johnson and Johnathan Clower; two step-great-grandchildren, Brock and Chase Johnson; siblings, Bobby Cross, Shelby Cross, Nikki Cross, Sandy Cross Smith, Freddy and Frances Cross, Malvin Cross, Rex and Mary Cross; and his nephews, Michael Cross, John Cross, William Cross, Rex Cross, Jr. and Travis Cross.
A life remembrance service will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. at Companion Funeral Home in Cleveland, followed by a funeral service at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Cleveland on Wednesday, October 12.
The pallbearers will be Thomas “Trey” Seymour, Jason Sneed, Dennis Cresswell, Michael McCabe, Kevin Gilbert and Kel Stansell.
The honorary bearers are Christian Parker and Cole Parker.
