An organization that has served the physical and spiritual needs of Salinians for 125 years plans to celebrate the milestone achievement in July.
Salina’s Salvation Army will celebrate 125 years in the city July 22-24.

The weekend celebration is set to begin with a free concert at 5 p.m. on July 22 at the Eric Stein Stage in Oakdale Park. The headliner will be contemporary Christian band Christafari. Local artists Dru Davis, Cash Hollistah and Into Forever are also scheduled to perform.

On July 23, the free fun continues with a big block party in and around Salina’s Salina Army Community Center, 1137 N. Santa Fe Avenue. Those planning to participate include the Salina Police Department, the Saline County Sheriff’s Office, the Salina Fire Department, and a number of local nonprofit organizations.
